2020-21 TECH TIMES NEWSLETTERS
October 5, 2020
Some of you may know that this coming season will be a bit different than past years. We want to continue to keep everyone up-to-date on what is going on and to keep interest in the club so that we do not end up losing out on a great club with a wealth of knowledge for our members and residents. For the immediate future, we will post updates on the Newsletter tab.
Anyone who was a member in good standing for 2019-2020, will be a member through this season. The club is not collecting dues this year and the club is operating on a volunteer hiatus. The leadership that is in the resort will re-evaluate what we can do and what needs we need to meet as the season unfolds. Trying to schedule classes, etc., during the restrictions will be a challenge. Linda Greig, last year’s Chairperson, will fill in this year for Heather Schmutzer, who cannot return because of the pandemic. We all plan to work together, to provide whatever we are able to under the restraints of space and our time.
Tech Support will be provided as much as possible with the limited number of Tech Team Members available. We will not be having the large Open Lab Times on Friday's like we have in the past. We are considering drop off/pick up support; using Quick Assist (which is already a part of your Windows 10 - a remote application); appointments with Techs and in home visits as the Tech feels comfortable doing during the Covid pandemic.
Some of you may have heard we have lost one of our classrooms. The only one we have is Lab 2, right by the Activity Office. We will still be able to use the Hopi Room and the Alcove has become available because of movable partitions. We continue to strive to find a way to present "occasional" programs either by Zoom, small group presentations by club members in the Ballroom (with limited number of residents for social distancing).
Be sure to check back here periodically for any updates and when you are able to get back to the park, be sure to check the Bulletin Board.
Stay tuned for any other important announcements for the coming "different" season. Hope to see many of you back!!
